The eyes are focused now on Mitt Romney and he is regarded as the assumed Republican party nominee for 2012 presidential elections. The rest of the primaries are beauty contest for who will be the ace for number two.
But a poll by the Augusta Chronicle showed Romney with 23 percent support, followed by former House Speaker Newt Gingrich with 21 percent. The poll's 3.6 percent margin of error put them in a virtual tie.
